Photography and travel have run parallel in my life for years, and what I photograph is a matter of what draws my eye wherever I am. In France it’s often open markets and people, but also nature and architecture. In Florida and California, it’s often birds and animals, as well as scenery. I've also travelled a bit in South Africa, as you'll see. But the larger truth is that the eye leads and the camera follows. Photography makes me pay attention to what I see, and I value that. I look for what draws my eye. Although I may have favorite things I look for, I am constantly surprised by new things.
In photography, the picture I want is inside the picture I take; it’s my task to look for it and bring it out. I love that. Another thing I love is that I can keep trying to get better at it, both at taking the photographs and also bringing out the best in them. This is my way of saying that I will keep adding photos, and I may keep working on them as I learn. Also, I have many more photos than I have posted on this site. If you like something and want to see more, feel free to contact me and ask (see below).
So, thank you for looking. I hope you’ll see something here that speaks to you. If I put it on this site, that’s what happened for me.
Prints:
I am happy to sell prints, of course. Since I try to make the best possible photo, they are not all the exact same rectangle. I generally crop for an 11” x 14” when I can, since I tend to prefer that. But some are wider; usually that means 11” x 16”. Some are square. So I price my photos according to the paper I print them on. The largest size paper I can print is 17" x 22".
I have an Epson SureColor printer and use their archival inks and their paper, usually Ultra Premium Luster or Gloss. I tend to prefer the Luster. If you prefer one or the other, let me know. If you want me to decide, I'll be happy to.
Prices are for unframed prints:
Prints sized and printed for letter-size paper (8.5 x 11) $30
Prints sized and printed for A3 paper (approx. 11.7 x 16.5) $75
Prints on 17 x 22 paper $100
If you live in the Boston area, I can also frame prints up to 11 x 14. I simply buy a black frame with white matting at a local art supply store. Nothing fancy. They run about $25, and I can just add that charge to the price. For larger prints, I have used Framebridge, a mail-in company whose work I like. I'd be happy to price their work for you, or you can check for yourself.
